REPRESENTATIVE PLAYERS 2012…FURTHER ACHIEVEMENTS
Several players need special mention for further representative selection or special achievements:
- Noah Abell and Rory Smyth were chosen to represent NSW Country in the U13 team for the annual clash against City that Country won.
- Jye Farrow was a member of the Hunter PSSA team that won the NSW PSSA Championships.
- Montanna Sharpe was a member of the CHS Hunter Team that was runner up in Combined High Schools State Championships
- 10 players from West and Central/West teams were selected in 2012/2013 Hunter Academy of Sport Squads - John Langley, Shawn Virtue, Lachlan Rinkin, Matthew Magann, Patrick Magann, Chris Boyle, Rebecca Ward, Rachael Ward were chosen in the main squad.
- Noah Abell and Benjamin Boyle were chosen in the development squad.
- Matthew Magann and Christopher Boyle were chosen in the U16 All Schools State Squad.
- Patrick Magann, Lachlan Rinkin and Austin Davis were selected in U15 Development State Squad.
- Following on from that Lachlan and Patrick were chosen in the NSW U/15 Development team that won the state of origin series against teams from Queensland.
- Noah Abell was a member of the NSW U/13 Development team that won series against Queensland.
- Silver Medals were awarded to Lachlan Rinkin, Patrick Magann and Noah Abell for this achievement.
- Rebecca Ward and Rachael Ward were selected in the U15 NSW State team and the U13 State Indoor team respectively. They are awarded gold medals to recognise their achievement as state reps.
- Christopher Boyle: Besides playing premier league here and being a Newcastle Rep Chris also played 1st grade for Sydney Uni (where he was nominated for the rising star award in the Sydney comp). He was chosen in the Hunter Academy squad and NSWIS emerging talent squad. Chris was selected in the NSW All Schools U/16 team and from there was chosen in the Australian Schoolboys team.
