MEN'S HOCKEY SERIES BEGIN TO-DAY

Three of the four matches listed in the opening series of the Newcastle Men's Hockey Association's senior premiership competition will be played at Heaton Park Wallsend, today. The other will be held at Dalby Oval.
The match between South Blue and Northern Suburbs at
HeatonPark, should provide the best hockey of the day.
Other fixtures in the senior competition are – Police Boys v. South Red.
Corroba v. Western Suburbs. Stockton No. 1 v. Stockton No. 2.
Reserve grade, under 18 and under 16 matches will be played at National Park, Dalby Oval and Heaton Park.

THE YEAR IS 1949

WEST has a long and proud history in Newcastle Hockey with our first A GRADE GRAND FINAL presence on 17th September 1949 at National Park vs Central.
The result was Central 2 (goals by W.Murray and J.Pryor) - WEST 1 (goal by W.Dodds).
Umpires on the day were L.Watkins and R.Byrnes.

We Support
